Kate grew up playing sports up until university, where she began her fitness career working as a personal trainer. Her passion for athleticism lead her to enrol in several courses including TRX and yoga, and she soon discovered classical Pilates. Kate sought the highest level of instructor training at the Merrithew headquarters studio in Toronto through STOTT PILATES - a contemporary approach through the original method by Joseph Pilates, designed to target specific muscle groups with proper resistance, restoring body alignment, mobility, and strength. The overall challenge and benefit of Pilates inspired Kate to obtain her Full Certification; an in depth training of the entire exercise repertoire pertaining to all 7 apparatuses, as well as how to apply these exercises to clients’ individual and anatomical needs.
During Kate’s training, she was given the opportunity to work for Merrithew and be featured in their Hospitality Brochure, as well as other global marketing material for the Pilates brand.
Originally termed “Contrology”, Pilates requires true internal core strength, connecting the mind to the body through proper breathing and muscle activation, promoting harmonized movement, improving posture, developing control, and creating balance and vitality. Kate’s education, vast clientele, background in sports, and personal practice for over a decade, provides a complimentary and customized approach to exercise.
