Falls Prevention Program
This 12-week small group exercise program is designed to improve strength, balance and gait and to help reduce the risk of falling and potential fractures. It is run by a Registered Kinesiologist.
Benefits of Participation in a Falls Prevention Program:
- Being physically active lowers older adults’ risk of falling and the number of falls they have
- Older adults who are strong and flexible are less likely to injure themselves if they fall
- Benefits of being physically active include - Staying physically and mentally healthy, moving with less muscle soreness and joint stiffness, sleeping better, having more energy, feeling more positive and relaxed, staying independent longer, and enjoying retirement and life in general.
Upon completion, participants will have the tools to continue with the confidence, strength, and balance in activities of daily living via a prescribed exercise program.
